Today is January 19th, 2009. It has been close to two months that I have not visited my blog and today after a long time I am starting to write something again.
The last two months have been extremely shocking for me. And still going through the shock. I am going to write as much as i can remember. Let me go back and try to remember.
December 6th
It was a Sunday. Naveen Sharma, my friend from Hewitt, was supposed to come as I invited him to my place. We planned for the same right on the 4th of December in Same Time. Called me, gave him the direction and told him that he needs to come from the Sangam Cinema side. He was delaying to come. I was waiting for him. Finally he came at around 3. He called me and I went to pick him up from the Shanti Niketan area just opposite to the exit of our gate. I saw Naveen after a long time, found him look little older than what he was in Daksh. I also told him jokingly, " Tu buddha ho gaya hai." He came by his bike, hero honda passion.
Finding that he was late, Deepak, Param, Dholua, Mustaf, Bhai, Tapan already took their lunch. Tapan was taking a long time to finish his meal as usual. So, Naveen and I were gossiping in land lord's room. Finally Naveen and I started eating after tapan finally finished his. We were talking and eating. It was almost 4 O'clock by then.
We hardly had any idea as to how my father was suffering, becuase by that time the count down of his final moment had already started. Mom was alone. And running around to call eveyone just for help.
We finished our lunch. Naveen Bajpai came by that time and he was already tired and was talking to us. But then he fell asleep. So, Naveen and I decided to go to the nearby South Motibagh market because Naveen wanted to smoke. We reached there, he started smoking and we were talking again about our life in Daksh and about all of our mutual friends.
Suddenly, my phone rang. It was an unknown number, looked like somewhere from Dhubri. I picked the calls. It was Sandy...
"Godai da, ekta kharap khobor aase." ...(Brother Godai, there is a bad news.)
I asked, "ki hoise?"... (what happened?)
By that time I already suspected that there was something back home.
"Kaku expire korse (uncle has expired)" he said.
I could not react. I became so confused as to what was going on. My face turned gray. Looked at Naveen. Naveen immediate made out that something was wrong.
"Kya hua (waht happened)?"
"Papa ki death ho gayi (father expired)", I said.
"O my god, chal tujhe jaldi chhod deta hoon (let me drop you soon)", he said.
He left after dropping me at my gate. Came back to room and found everyone staring at me. I told them that I already know what has happened. I wanted to wake up Bhai. But they told me that he slept late. So, it would not be good to let him know about it immediately.
I called my mom. She was lonely despite of the presense of all our neighbors. She bursted in to tears and shouting and crying,
"Suman re, tor baba nei, tor baba aar nei (your father is no more)"
"I am there for you mom, do not worry. I will come immediately.", I said.
Param and Tapan helped me to booked the flight for the next morning.
